If you’ve seen The Refuge before you’ll know they can jump around and rock out, but there’s another side to this rock band. Yes, on very rare occasions they go… ACOUSTIC! This will be different and will make you think “Wait, what… is that even the same band, why are they sitting down? I’m so confused”. Come along to Casalingo on Sunday of the Earth weekend – you mightn’t see this again.

Although The Refuge are a classic rock band they incorporate other genres into their sound as well, these include Blues, psychedelic rock, folk and heavy metal. Formed in 2014, the band’s sound is heavily influenced by classic rock bands of the 70’s and grunge bands of the 90’s rock bands and is often compared to the likes of, Silverchair, Nirvana, Deep Purple and The Doors. Since their first gig winning the 2014 Colac Freeza Battle of the Bands, the band has gathered a strong following in their hometown Apollo Bay and are building audiences in other towns along the coast.

Currently working on their second album which will showcase their ever-improving skills and songwriting, the Refuge were recently ranked third on the bands to watch list after King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and Rolling Blackouts by the Weekly Review.
