Mike Elrington and Alister Turril at the Brewhouse
Mike Elrington is a gifted singer-songwriter with incredible guitar skills. Standing at almost two meters tall, delivering his signature, gut-wrenching vocals like an instrument all on its own, very few people forget a performance from this man. The commitment to his live shows and the well-earned reputation for leaving nothing behind but sweat has seen him invited to perform at some of Australia’s finest festivals, including the iconic Byron Bay BluesFest, Bendigo, Sydney Blues and Roots Festivals & Blues on Broadbeach to name but a few.
Elrington has proven himself as one the hardest-working artists currently on the Australian scene, and over the last 17 years since the inception of his career as an 18-year old in Adelaide, has released 9 albums and toured excessively throughout Australia, the United Kingdom & New Zealand.
“An eclectic, passionate & relentless mix of acoustic blues, rock & folk. This man plays & sings like wildfire.” -Las Vegas Weekly
“Alister is a songwriter of the highest order and a sign that the future of Australian blues is in good hands.” – Lloyd Spiegel, Premier Endorsee Cole Clark Guitars.
The past twelve months have seen the new Melbourne resident at his busiest and best yet with his first East Coast Tour (including a well-received slot on the Roaming Buskers Stage at Byron Bay Bluesfest 2017) and first European shows.
Following his award winning 2013 debut album; ‘Reverence & Resonance’, and 2015 single release ‘Road To The Grave’, Alister has released a brand new EP, ‘A Toast To Better Times’. A stripped-back modern folk/country-blues record where the quality of his songwriting is bared for all.
Honest, Flawed, Gravel-Throated Folkin’ Blues awaits.
