The Great Ocean Road Brewhouse, or the ‘Top Pub’ as the locals know it, is hosting a gang of bands each Saturday night over the festival.
Localles is the combined talents of Ted O’Neil and Michael Fitzgerald, two thirds of Vasco Era. It was the thought of collaboration with long-time friend John Waller (Rat & Co) that initially sparked the concept that led to the group. Add to that the creativity and versatility of Paul Doery (The Exploders) and Jackson Gray (I Know The Chief) and the true sound of Localles was fully realised.
The band is a rudimentary source of joy and connection for all members; and is driven by Ted and his songs. Localles, being friends and familiar faces along the surf coast, repute an inclusive live show with good times and fun vibes.
“Everyone in the band brings ideas from totally different musical backgrounds,” Michael explains. “This morphs the original song idea into something unique, that can span multiple genres within a song.”
Their grunge pop sound has been honed through the collective experience of its members. Localles explore connection while challenging social structures, political ideologies with questions and observations of our environment. No strangers to the music scene, Localles are excited to be bringing new sounds for you all to hear.
