BE PREPARED

PREPARE YOUR BODY

WinterWild asks you to experience Apollo Bay in winter. Rainforest, mud, rain, wind, sand and the ocean – we have it all in glorious abundance. Much of our programming will be held outdoors and you’ll need to be prepared to experience it all. Bring warm clothes, raincoats and sensible shoes. Consider that you may want to immerse yourself in the Southern Ocean or dance barefoot on the grass.

WinterWild is not a standard festival precinct. You’ll find our events scattered all over town and we invite you to explore the town and its surrounds. Be prepared to walk, and maybe even to drive.

PREPARE YOUR MIND

The Visions & Ecstasies programme contains a number of workshops that work with breath, movement and meditative experiences. Our Workshop program is not a party – we’re inviting you to seriously journey inside yourself. You can cut loose in the evening after you’ve done the work. Some of these workshops may not be suitable for humans experiencing particular physical and / or psychological conditions. Some of these workshops may not be suitable for humans uncomfortable with their bodies, or with the bodies of other humans. Please ensure that you have fully read all information prior to purchasing tickets and know that we’ll be checking in with you throughout events to ensure that you are safe and comfortable at all times.

APOLLO BAY

Apollo Bay is located around three hours south west of Melbourne. If you’re in a car, you get here along the Great Ocean Road but we recommend that you consider coming inland through the Otway Ranges to immerse yourself in glorious cool temperate rainforest. Public transport is available by catching the train to Geelong and then heading down by bus.

WinterWild is not a standard festival precinct. Our events are scattered throughout town and we encourage you to make the most of it. Food can be purchased at local restaurants or the towns two supermarkets. WinterWild’s evening events are  licensed, and you can also drop into one of the two pubs for a drink. There are a few campgrounds around town if you want to pitch a tent, or you can take advantage of the many accommodation options on offer. We particularly encourage you to support the accommodation providers who support us because they’re amazing and without them WinterWild simply wouldn’t be.

Our Accommodation Heroes will be listed here shortly.
